Training Programs
Life InSight’s training programs prepare emerging clinicians to provide high-quality, evidence-based services across assessment, intervention, consultation, and educational planning. Clinicians work within a center that offers a full range of psychological and educational services that include diagnostic & neuropsychological evaluations, psychotherapy, family counseling, school consultation, and social skills groups – all of which helps ensure a rich and diverse learning experience. We provide a supportive, growth-oriented environment with weekly, hands-on supervision. Seminars are also provided on topics related to assessments, CBT etc.
Our goal is to develop:
- Strong assessment skills
- Deep clinical formulation abilities
- Competence in evidence-based therapeutic interventions, working with all age groups (i.e. children, adolescents, adults)
- Skill in educational programming and collaboration with families, schools, and multidisciplinary providers
- Sensitivity to developmental, cultural, and contextual factors
Training Opportunities
We offer three structured training pathways tailored to developmental level:
- Postdoctoral Fellowship/Doctoral Internship – Candidates from advanced psychology doctoral programs are invited to apply. This program offers a dual focus on therapy and diagnostic evaluations. Fellows will receive at least two hours of individual supervision per week in addition to group work.
- Psychology Externship (1-Year) – Candidates from advanced psychology doctoral programs are invited to apply. This program focuses exclusively on neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessment. Unlike internships and fellowships, externs do not carry therapy cases; instead, the emphasis is on developing sophisticated evaluation, diagnostic assessment/differential diagnosis, case conceptualization and report-writing skills. Externs typically complete multiple comprehensive assessment batteries during the training year under close supervision.
- Supervised Professional Counseling Training Program – Advanced licensed associate counselors and licensed social workers are invited to apply. This program provides structured clinical experience in direct client care, case conceptualization, treatment planning, and the application of evidence-based interventions. Training includes regular individual and/or group supervision, documentation review, and opportunities to reflect on clinical work.
